SUNSET MARINE LTD. was started in 1970 by Ralph Bagnell.
Not liking the service he received when buying an outboard, he decided to start his own business that would be built on QUALITY customer service.
First starting on Main Street, Dartmouth, they sold mini bikes, SnoJet snowmobiles, Johnson outboards, boat trailers, Chestnut boats, and canoes. The service department was run by Ralph’s father-in-law Eric Flinn and son Larry Bagnell.
With the business soon outgrowing their current location, they moved to Porters Lake in 1972 to 118 Post Office Road #7 Highway. They expanded their sales taking on: Suzuki motorcycles, Roper lawn tractors, Pioneer chainsaws, Marina rentals and providing storage.
In 1985 they dropped their Glastron line of boats due to change in distributer and made DORAL their main speedboat line with OMC Cobra drives.
Today we sell & service EVINRUDE E-TEC and MERCURY outboards, KARAVAN & SHORELAND’R trailers, SPORTSPAL Canoes, PRINCECRAFT boats and more. . .
The service department is still run by Larry, with 50 years of experience, and his son Collin Bagnell, CERTIFIED Evinrude and Mercury mechanic.
Ralph is still here every day in this family-run business of three generations, proud of his more than 50 plus years experience standing behind what SUNSET MARINE LTD. sells.
